III. JOB DESCRIPTION
@ Responsibility during operation:
Electrician works under the Chief Engineer, and is obligated to keep him informed of everything which is of interest within his area of responsibility.
Operation, maintenance and repair of the vessels electrical system and equipment, including the electrical part of hydraulic systems, and that the work is executed in a safe manner according to established safety instructions.
To assure that condition of electrical systems with related electrical equipment are in accordance to all requirements and regulations.
To assure that maintenance program for electrical systems and equipment is followed up, including the reporting of completed maintenance, completion of test reports, filling out E/O checklists, etc.
To assure that emergency batteries are inspected and charged.
Promptly report all accidents, near miss and non conformances that may happen.
Safety responsibility:
Keep remote Control System for cargo and Radio Station in operational condition at all times.
Muster on station with required equipment in emergency situations.
Responsibility according to established contingency plans.
Other tasks:
Assure that all written and verbal orders are understood and complied with.
Participate in safety meetings and preparedness drills
Familiarize with all relevant work and Safety Procedures, and contribute to the implementation of these.
@ Knowledgeable in designing fundamentals network / exchanges, conducting surveys, preparing demand forecast, preparing zone / block diagrams / manhole and cabinet location, fiber optics transmission systems.
